This model retains the 'background defocusing' mode that was first brought to market in 2009. An inbuilt gyro sensor detects the range of movement of the camera caused by an unsteady hand, and triggers the internal actuators that use sophisticated algorithms developed originally for the state-of-the-art E-Series to shift the CCD to compensate for the path of movement. The result is crystal clear shots, without the need to set up a tripod.
